The Global Lens: Tools to Promote Deep Thinking on Big Issues

Are there simple ways we can support deep thinking around complex global issues? YES! I will share the results of a year of intensive study with researchers from the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Project Zero and a team of public school educators. Together we have developed a set of micro-interventions that can be used in a variety of settings to support interdisciplinary learning driven by rich journalism texts. Teachers will leave this session with simple tools that you can use right away to build a culture of visible thinking in your class around the most pressing issues of our time.
